Finally, if you had just one Manectric ex (a Stage 1) in play, you could copy it with all your Mew ex (a Basic, thus easier to get out) if you were running just Manectric, your board might be a bit shaky if you had 1 Manectric and had no other Electrike/Manectric in play, since if it got KO’d you would definitely not be Disconnecting next turn. Mew ex could also use non-Disconnect attacks (especially because you could run Holon’s Electrode), so swinging with something like Roselia LM’s Flick Poison or Minun DX’s Sniff Out/Negative Spark was easy to do without having to retreat (and ofc you could look over your opponent’s board and see if any of *their* attacks were worth copying). Besides the obvious Weakness/Resistance reasons, running 4 Mew ex meant you had even more chances to get the turn 2 Disconnect (since now you had 8 “good” starters instead of just the 4 you’d have running only Electrike… if you started Mew you just needed to get an Electrike in play on T1, you didn’t have to start it). But Mew ex's Poké-Body is its real trick, allowing Mew ex to copy the attacks of any Pokémon in play. There was a thick (4-3 or 4-4) Manectric ex line in the deck and you’d often attack with that. It seems to have only one attack-searching for Energy before disappearing from combat. Strange Cave is a powerful Stadium card that can set the stage for your Fossil takeover!Ī Legend in the Making? And finally, the legendary Pokémon Mew ex (88/92) appears in this expansion with some incredible powers. Skipping steps jumps you to your Stage 2 Pokémon that is much faster and relies less on drawing the Fossil cards to begin with. Once during your turn, you can put one of several Stage 1 Pokémon directly into play, skipping the Fossil step. Strange Cave (77/92) puts you on location with its amazing abilities. Use Drag Off to control which Pokémon you fight, and Hydro Splash to finish off your opponent's bigger Pokémon. Get Fossilized! Omastar (23/92) pulls your opponent's Pokémon into a whirlpool of distraction! The damage for its Drag Off attack seems pretty light, but Omastar's attacks do an extra 20 damage if you have a Kabuto, Kabutops, or Kabutops ex in play. Gengar's Cursed Reaction attack can put 2 (or 4 if Gengar has a React Energy attached) damage counters on your opponent's Pokémon, Benched or otherwise! Combine Gengar with the Pokémon Tool Cursed Powder ( EX Unseen Forces, 80/115), which puts 3 damage counters on the Attacking Pokémon if Gengar is Knocked Out, and really make your opponent wonder: let Gengar stay or just surrender now? No place is safe from the damage counters that come from nowhere! Shadow Curse triggers when your opponent finally Knocks Out Gengar-3 damage counters on any 1 of your opponent's Pokémon. And Wailord's attacks are pretty cool, putting the Defending Pokémon Asleep or pounding on the Defending Pokémon based on the number of Stage 1 Pokémon on your Bench!Ī Blessed Curse Beware of Gengar (5/92) and its ghostly tricks. Clint Adams was anything but stagestruck when huckster and legend maker Oscar Marsh gave him star billing in 'The Great Wild West Outlaws and Gunfighters Show.' The Gunsmith joined up with the ludicrous road show just to make a quick getaway from John Rankinthe brash, murderous sheriff of Tucson who suspected Clint of fooling around with his. Its Reactive Lift Poké-Body gives all of your Water Pokémon a free Retreat Cost. Wailord (14/92) works well with even just 1 React Energy attached to it. Play them carefully, and your opponent will react even more strongly than your Pokémon Most regular Pokémon use React Energy to get 1 Colorless Energy, but in this set, some Pokémon can take it to the extreme! For those Pokémon, React Energy can trigger extra abilities-extra damage, Energy control, defensive moves, and even free Retreat Costs. React Quickly! A cool and tricky new card in EX Legend Maker is React Energy. EX Legend Maker, the newest expansion for the Pokémon TCG, brings legends to life! You can combine powerful, rare Pokémon like Mew with the amazing card mechanics of React Energy, which makes this an expansion you don't want to miss! New Poké-Powers and Poké-Bodies from your favorite Pokémon will send your opponents reeling.
